Choir concert

Hi, we look funny.

The first choir concert of my life, the best one I've ever watched. I thought I wasted $15 on something boring and time-consuming, but I was wrong. "Don't judge a book by it's cover" is the best description of Choir. It was really awkward, being a sports person, being wild all the time, going crazy in every concert, to sit down in a theatre with a really quite atmosphere and listen to the melodious voices of the beautiful ladies and handsome men performing. I swear, Choir performing in a theatre compared to performing in the school hall, is a million times different. Being in School Of The Arts is amazing! The place looks awesome and huge! I wasn't alone, I had Xiaopei, Arini and Huiling to accompany me and erase all the awkwardness!

Okay, cut the crap, the first song almost made me cry, YES, CRY. It sounded so amazing, I don't know how to describe that feeling. 16 songs in the set-list, all of them sounded amazing. The 2 pianists were pretty, and DAMAI PRIDE, the emcee's were our own Damaians! Don't forget the conductor! I don't know what he's doing most of the time, but I seriously respect him, to choreograph a group of people to sing together, and different pitches and speeds, is just amazing. I'm used to getting shouted at by coaches and doing all those team cheers, but this is a completely different thing. And obviously, there will be cheering for friends here and there. The concert "ended" and those people who couldn't take a hint, left. Come on, if the performers haven't left, there must be something going on, duh, take a hint, seriously!

And a wild Conductor appeared! I'm just exaggerating again. Mr Wong Yang Kai, the conductor, came out and "was surprised". We asked for one last song, and yes, he invited his girlfriend up on stage, with a group of flowers in her arms. HE STARTED SINGING! Well, not bad for a conductor, I would say. Even though his voice wasn't that amazing, I think it's really sweet to sing for your girlfriend, with her, on stage, in front of an audience. After singing, HE PROPOSED TO HIS GIRLFRIEND! I know how his girlfriend feels, all embarrassed! The audience were chanting, "YES YES YES YES YES" and she finally nodded her head. Then, the audience chanted, "KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS" and they kissed. Me describing this is not enough, you've gotta see it for yourself. And the concert ended, I mean, really ended.

Awkwardly stood outside the theatre and waited for the girls to finish their conversations with their CCA members. I talked to Mdm Nor! She looks prettier now, and she's really impressed that I actually went for something like this. Everyone went home, Arini being the pampered one with her parents fetching her, Huiling taking the Purple Line and only me and Xiaopei taking the Green Line. Stopped at Kembangan with her where her parents are fetching her and I took bus 25 home.

I'm a guy who loves sports, but I take time off my life to appreciate other things in life, like music. The outer impression of Choir seemed boring to me, so I started criticising them for being a boring CCA. I slept during their performances in school, ridicule them at times and tried to imitate them just to piss them off. I was immature, and this concert really changed my perception and impression of Choir, in general. If I were to not attend this concert, Choir would still be a boring CCA to me.
I would like to sincerely apologise to all Choir members for doing all the things above, you guys are just amazing. Even though in the eyes of teachers, you suck, in my eyes, you guys are the best, I'm so proud of you guys. Thank you for the really jaw-dropping concert! It was worth my $15!

That was from the bottom of my heart. I hope you liked it. Peace!
